timing belt slipped while cranking bent valves?
So i tried cranking my car over a little while ago, it cranked fine but then suddenly it started cranking over and sounding like it had no compression. I tried it again and it started popping out of the exhaust, So I checked the cam timing.
With the cam gears pointed up i say i am at LEAST 40 degrees before TDC on the crank pulley. What are the odds that i bent some valves? I would imagine the starter has enough torque to bend them. The head is kind of crappy anyways, so i'm debating picking one up or trying to time this one again. TIA

Did the belt slip off, or did it just skip a couple of teeth?
try turning it over manually by rotating it with the cam gear. You should be able to here any metal on metal contact, also if the valves don't seat it'll be really difficult to turn over.

its still on and its still tight, the TDC mark is just off a lot. The sound it makes when it turns over is the sound it makes when you have no plugs in it...it just sounds like a long whiring noise, prob cause there is zero compression. I guess ill just time it again and try it out.

Well if it skipped some teeth then yes, retime it, but i would put a NEW timing belt on. when a timing belt slips off or comes off EASILY, it means either it has stretched, or you did not tighten the tensioner enough. But thats just my opinion
