Default Is this thermostat casing okay to use?

It's missing a nipple thing to align the water pipe

Just clean it up and install already. Why would the nipple make a big difference? The bolts and one nipple should align everything fine.

Doesnt it hold the waterpipe in place?

so, it has about 1-2 mm play with the tab and the nipples.
They're only there for alignment purposes
I replaced the o ring on both ends for safe measure. and the end that goes into the water pump also has a tab but no alignment nipples.

Good tip for anyone doing this. wet the o rings with antifreeze so they go in easier
