Default SI distributor into a DX motor?

I am trying to use an 91 civic SI dist in a 91 civic DX motor. I just cut the 5 pin plug off the DX and color coded it to the SI dist without hooking up two wires (blue/yellow and blue/green). The car started but dies a few second later. Someone on HT said it work. It not working for me. What am I doing wrong. Please help.
