Should I buy 1991 Civic DX?
Need some advice about buying a 1991 Civic DX four door automatic for my wife as a daily work car -- with 133,000 miles on it. ($900) The AC "needs freon."
In general, what are the strong and weak points of this model?
Also, the DX has manual steering. Might that be a problem for her, like difficult steering at low speeds?
Please help out

its a good choice, not that powerful or anything close, but it works...just check to make sure its all in good condition so it doesn't break down on here

not much different than others just Dual point, and no power steering, but its not that bad. My friend had a 91 DX and parking was a breeze. overall for 900 dollars pretty decent.

Do all the things mentioned above and do look for that "what to look for when buying a car" thread. The last thing you need is to have an angry wife sitting in a broken down car on the freeway at night in the middle of nowhere!!!

Re: (progress)
^I have the same car with now 190k miles. I bought it with 156k miles on the clock. Had to get a new tranny, and replaced a few typical parts but it's a solid car.

Re: (Seatown)
the lack of power steering shouldnt be a problem... look out though, cause in a few weeks she'll start to bulk up from turning those massive 13's
