Default Seatbelt Light & Warning Beep - Even when Seatbelts are buckled?

I have a 91' Civic EX Sedan...with the automatic seat belts that are controlled by the door being open / shut (not sure of the correct term?)

Even when both shoulder & lap buckles are latched in the driver & passenger seat, the light will blink on & off (quicker than it would normally) and also beeps constantly and rapidly. It doesn't do it all the time, it'll be fine for like 2 weeks at a time then one day it will start doing it & last for a couple days...I can't really tell what "triggers" it, sometimes I hear a faint "grinding" noise almost from where the seat belt retracts but my boyfriend doesn't seem to hear that.

Has anyone had this problem?? What is causing it? I'm not really worried about replacing the problem, I'd like to just be able to somehow get it to stop beeping!!! I've heard there's something you can disconnect so it doesn't beep but I don't know where / what that is...help!! It's driving me nuts!!!

That sounds like a genuine seatbelt problem that may be covered under the life time warranty. Go to Honda and ask them to check it for free. Be cute and nice to them, I'm sure they'll hook you up.

Dealership.

My problem with that was due to the electronic sensor in the door LATCH inside the door. It was faulty and would trigger the door/seatbelt chime. I unplugged the door latch wires inside the door panel and all was good after that. You can "disconnect the beep" up inside the rear view mirror area. Good Luck.

I had that problem, I have the si, with the lights in the rear view mirror. I replaced the little bubs n it and voila. I later added dilectric grease to the connections on the seat belt buckle thing under the seats. But I don't know if that helped
