Saved this hatch from sk8er rice. Loud magna flow exhaust, lowered on stock shocks, bad speaker wiring, ripped up interior, "aftermarket intake" which was a "filter" with just mesh at the end and no filter O.o, and sk8 company and performance part stickers all over... performance parts that where not even on it. It does have a dent in the hood and front facia and another on the drivers side behind the door. Goin to pull the dents, get it painted since the macco paintjob it has looks like poo, bigger rims of the same brand and style, a modest kit, and ZC with a bit of FI ^^ Got bored of the lights and put some dual projectors and clear corners and bumper lights. Wired the "halos" to blink with my turn signals, kinda dumb but w/e, I like it. BTW first honda =Þ

does it really matter if a part lots of ricers put on their vehicles just happens to be something i wanted on mine? its clean compared to the pile that i got when i purchased it. If i wanted a stock hatch i would have kept it orig, jdm i would have went with ambers and kept the stocks. It looks fine the way it does. I dont have a body kit falling off, i dont have a fart can, it isnt lowered on stock shocks, no painted interior, 5 inch tach light, or horrific wing, and it isnt plastered in stickers and vinyl tape. projectors just look better to me than the stock lights. I guess your all original ride has nothing on it that some ricer has never put on it in the past huh? I guess with all that rice i will be burnin i can have something to eat on the weekands when i cruise my 3000gt

I like halo's on some cars. I was thinking about black halos to go on my old CRX but never got to it before I sold it. Keep up the good work, I am sure you (keyword there) will be happy with the outcome.

Please clarify the term "rice." It is becoming a term tossed around more and more without a very solid meaning.

The two explanations I have been able to determine for the term "rice" are:
1) Everyone else is doing it, it is not original so there for it is rice.
2) It doesn't have any performance functions and I don't like it so it is rice.

If thats the case then:
A) JDM is the new rice because it seems to be the most popular thing nowadays.
B) Your amber corners are rice because I don't like it and they add nothing to your performace.

This is just my take on it anyways. Food for thought I suppose.

So.. those people who want body kits falling off, fart cans, cut stock shocks, painted interiors, 5 inch tach light and horrific wings don't have the right to put that on their honda if that is indeed what 'they' like, but not maybe what 'you' like? B/c, as you so brilliantly put it, as long as 'you' like it then it isn't rice; even if they detest it.

Absolutely. I wouldn't go any bigger than a 16" rim.

OT: Here's my definition of "rice": anything you can possibly do to modify a vehicle to make it a) annoying, b) flashy or c) loud without adding any performance to the vehicle whatsoever. One can further expand their rice by acting like said car is super fast.

17's are too expensive for tires so you might be right, besides the 16's look fine.
Only gettin a kit if its subtle, i really like the lines of the hatch but not really the bumper.
If all those things make you happy(i.e. kits, cans, vinyl, wings then go for it, its not my money and not my ride)
If your not into the projectors thats ok, im not into jdm or "high" performance hondas.
Wasn't flaunting the 3000gt, just letting you know im not a rice boy all the time and that i purchased and built it without a rich mommy and daddy
congrats on owning a bmw that came with factory halos, i think they look really good
Im not under the illusion of owning an exotic or high performance car. I don't race it on the streets or track

Thnx for the input everyone, ill post one i start the zc build and we will see how that FI goes. Thinkin SC, but i will decide once i do more research on these motors and SCs

and halos on a CRX IMO doesnt look good to boxie i had them on mine when i bought the car and i didnt like them went back to stock

halos look better on rounder cars like accords and BMW's

I don't agree with everything from this site, but the creator does make some very good points. Projectors, altezzas, excessive wings, most stickers, neon lights are all ricey. you need to make up your own view on what is rice or not. for me personally 80% of your local auto parts store is ricey, if you have parts from APC, Matrix, pacesetter, your probably riced out(mostly, non o.e.m., uncertified with d.o.t., and/or generic/non-quality parts)

I think the car looks pretty nice. Halos, clear corners, and turn signals are pretty much the only items I like that are aftermarket(if they make the car look nice). I use to like tail lights but not anymore....I should get rid of mine but I need to wait on new oem ones. Anyways, the car is lookin good, I don't think I would change anything on it if it were mine.

Pfft, i reckon the halos look good. Not that id ever buy them, and the car looks good. The rims that are on it look big enough too, they fill the wheel wells nicely.

Nice car! Looks pretty clean, those rims look good too... 16's are nice but the rubbers more expensive than 17's... 15's are cheap and readily available.

Dont worry about being called a Ricer... if you like it who cares what anyone else thinks.

rice cant really be defined, but u kno it when u see it... there isnt really a true definition, but when u see a lime green civic coupe, stock D series motor, with a 3 foot double stack wing on the back, and a fart can that makes it sound like a weedwacker.... i mean come on, thats rice...

as for the rims, 16's r perfect, cuz u can lower the car, and not really worry about rubbin the tires on the fenders so long as u got the right tires
