Replacing weather strip rear CRX windows? How to?
I'm getting a paint job soon and I want to replace the weather stripping on the rear windows. How do I take this out? Should the window be removed? Thanks guys.

The CRX rear side windows do NOT have to be removed to paint the car. We just recently finished a complete rebuild and full paint on ours. The rear side trims are available from Honda. I will urge you to replace all of them as the years have taken teir toll on the ones that are there-they shrink and become brittle with time. You can also take the rubber trims off the roof and if care save those-but better to replace them too. WE DID the replace thing.
Now for the Hatch glass-this window is horribly expensive and my glass shop does NOT want to guarantee that it won't crack if they redo the trims for me-those got masked and paint applied. If you happen to need the rubber trims for the rear of a 2nd Gen's wheelwells -I have a brand new in the packages pair available (e-mail if interested).
Again-remember that you are dealing with a car that is as much as 15 years old from new. Parts deteriorate with time. Under no circumstances is it required to take the glass out of the sides-masking film is your friend after the rubber comes out and that is reasonably easy.
Good luck

OK so what your saying is I do not have to take the window out. All I have to do is pull off the weather stripping and just place the new ones around the side/rear windows?
