Re: Replacing Fuel filter (turkishEF)
Man, this was hard and I still didnt get it off.
I got the top small 12mm bolt out, but not the 17mm bolts on either side !
Wouldnt come off !!!!
So I decided to say screw it, and put the 12mm bolt back on, then I noticed I now had a small fuel leak coming from there. I tightened it back as much as possible and its still leaking !!!
So I took it in the shop where its getting replaced !

Re: Replacing Fuel filter (Rob.)
SP or Shuley tool company makes a special socket
part#89800 that fits the banjo fitting:
Not really necessary but it helps..
But the easiest way I have found was to grab
the filter casing with a giant pair of 16" channel-locks
to keep the firewall and filter bracket from flexing while torque is applied..

I'd die if I didnt have any tools. My fiance doesnt understand why I own 3 or 4 of each wrench either.

I dont need tools. Why spend the money ? My cars are pretty mint already, and if I do have a problem,
I work at a Honda dealer so I get stuff done for cheap.

Re: Replacing Fuel filter (Rob.)
but i own my own tools. you are a tool. big difference.
so, i spend a little bit on tools and you spend a little bit to get someone else to work on your car but i'm doing something wrong?
at the end of the day, my car is fixed AND i have some tools to put back in the box.
if you think about it, on a long enough timeline...
my tools will pay for themselves as you are still paying others to wrench on your car.

rob, did it really take you that 15 minutes to find those pictures? i mean, after your private messages trying to insult my fiance didnt go very far?
keep the cookies pal, you deserve them. i'll only take a little bit.
when the day is over, i can still work on my own car.

actually just changed mine tonight. Only hard part is keeping the filter still when breaking the bolts loose. I just gripped the hard lines...luckily they didn't bend. To tighten the banjo fitting I held the wrench on the fitting vertically and used my 1/4" ratchet handle as extra leverage to tighten (screwdriver would work too, but it doesn't need to be extremely tight, 16 ft-lbs IIRC).

Re: (eyeballs)
I hope the fuel leaks, and ignites, and you die in a fire. BTW this isn't a threat, just wishful thinking. As much as I hate to see a CRX go, you and you original paint minus a fender and door handles get on everyone's last nerve. What kind of moron can't change a fuel filter. I did one when I was 16, and probably could of done it sooner had I had a car at a younger age. Mo wonder people always knock Canadians. 2point2, k20ef8, crxforum, ludesrv, and khunt007, should hunt you down and execute you for making Canadians look bad.
