racing seat material?
not sure if this is in the wrong area but it seems to be a fabrication issue, just wondering what material racing seats are made out of. im planning on reupholstering my crx seats in the same material because i like the feel, and i dont know what to get. thanks!

Re: racing seat material? (menappi)
well, they can be cloth, vinyl, leather, suede, alcantara, or numerous other materials. Pick a specific seat and THEN find out the material.

What exactly are you asking? Do you already have the Sparco Torinos? Are they in need of repair? What kind of 'feel' are you talking about? It's likely not the upholstery you like, it's probably the shape and support of the A/M seat....

A "typical racing seat" is made out of something that is fire resistant (at least the FIA homologated ones are), something like Nomex, etc. And this isn't necessarily the more abrasion resistant material either, especial when subjected to everyday use. That is why people were asking you to clarify a specific seat first.
The Sparco Torino, is a street seat, with design influences from a competition seat. A racing "style" seat... You could have just gone here: http://www.sparcousa.com/pseats_street.asp?id=95 and it would have told you: " ...The high quality Jacquard material stands up to every day use while the anti-abrasion inserts save your seats from damage. "
You can try getting that from a fabric shop or an upholstery shop (more likely, if they will sell it to you). But Sparco sells all the materials they use in theirs seats too. Download the "Complete Pricing List - PDF" from this page: http://www.sparcousa.com/seats_street.asp
3rd page shows all the seat fabrics... ~$189 for 5 meter roll of Jacquard... Same price for Alcantara (the suede like frabric used in the high wear areas).
