Default Purchased a CRX shell with wiring issues...... look inside

So i just purchased a 88 CRX HF shell for $225 dollars. I will be doing a k20 swap here in the next 3 months. the only problem i see is the shock tower harness has been cut. Is there a way i swap that harness out? iv never had to deal with this problem before. If i can swap that harness do i have to use a 88 HF harness or can i use a 88 Crx Si harness?

here are the pics of the damage and the actual car

You can change that harness or you can reconnect all those wires. As for SI harness i think that all of the trims used the same harness there. If intrested i can sell you mine..

Its best to just go ahead and buy a new harness. I dont know if there is any difference in harnesses between years. I am pretty sure that 89-91 are all the same. But you have to watch the 88 models....they are different on some things. Just keep a eye on ebay or HT for sale threads.

BTW keep that front bumper support! They are getting hard to find nowadays!

you can buy the hf support from any of those aftermarket body parts suppliers that sell hoods/fenders and the like. last time I got a hf one it was less than $40 new

last time i checked i found a aftermarket dx front bumper suport for 150 plus shipping so noa i am driving with out it i checked all the local junkyard and nothing the closest is in san fran and they want 300 for it

oh yeah as for the engine harness i belive (not 100%sure) that the hf is wired for a egr valve and the si is not so you will have to add wires to your ecu if i am not mistaking

Ok well an 88 hf has diffrent wiring then all the rest you have a couple of options you can go to the junk yard and try and get an SI harness cabin and engine harness. try to get both off the same car because DX,SI,HF are diffrent. the other thing is the 88-89 guage cluster harness and cover is diffrent so if you get 90-91 get the guage cluster too and the cover too take the dash board out and remove the dash harness and then it will be easier to get the cabin harness out all the way back to the tail lights and the cabin harness also includes the headlights too

since your doing a k20 you dont have to stay 88 hf. i have a 90 crx si cabin harness in my 91 hatch. you could probably run any crx harness, but si would be easiest for mpfi and such

the 88 hf has a egr valve so the 88 hf harness will have that plug the 88 si does not have a egr valve.

your either gonna have to find a 88 si or hf harness cause the drivers side side plug is different from 89-91
or find a complete interior and engine bay harness from a 89 si or hf. that is what i would do cause the wires ya have now are scary looking
