Default Pro's Con's to hf trans

Getting a 89 CRX hf. Needs motor, still not sure to go with B18a (have one in basement but needs rebuild), or D16z6 (don't have one). I need to put something together quick for a daily driver, selling my car next week and need a ride. I can probably do without a ride for a couple weeks but would be tough. Funds are limited, however, I hate doing things twice. That's one reason I'm asking about the hf trans, if I buy a good D motor, but will have to end up upgrading the trans within a short amount of time, that will further my case for just throwing the B in to begin with. Let me know guys, any and all suggestions are welcome.......to a point. I will have about $500-$800 to start with and complete drivetrain from 91 teg, axles waisted though. Thanks for your time.

Depend on you.

Save time and money just rebuild the b18a.
100-300 to rebuilt yours B18a.
100-300 for mounts/linkage.
200 for ecu/misc.

Or put 100 on a D motor and use the HF tranny. Just so you'll have a car.
Then rebuild your B18a and swap.
HF will do you wonderful, even save you money on gas.

This is a good idea, I just put a post in the market thread looking for a D. I don't think I have the cash to put in the B right now. I want to do it right and once.

I think you'll be better off buying a D motor locally...
Cause Shipping price is going to cost more than the motor is worth.

Get a D if you need the car and you will save money in both sections Gas and parts/labor wise too.

Saved money can go for a rebuild on the B18 u got plus you will later have everthing needed for the swap. GL

HF tranny is fine for a basic DD but that thing is frustratingly long geared
