Re: Project Huf, an SS Autoworks CRX Inspiration
I am going full size for the radiator. I thought about putting the battery on the frame rail there but haven't decided. Need to look up track rules don't want anyone giving me a hard time.

ever done track days with it? I considered a half size but 4 20 minute sessions of hot lapping (or more sometimes) will the half size be enough? 100+ Degree summer days too I just don't know :/

Don't get discouraged if people don't post. A lot of people check things out and never post. A lot of people will see this thread long after you've stopped working on it.

Hah yea they might have been "near" automotive but they've worked amazing. The car hasn't had a motor until now so it supported the car just fine. They say 1000lb max so unless I get one wheel motion it shouldn't be an issue.
I'll hopefully have a video this weekend of a loud open header car

Ordered a bunch of parts today!
Since I don't have photos I found this update awesome as they basically bought the car exactly as I have built it so far. They got first place at Buttonwillow for modified FWD so looks like I should be quick!

I'm liking the progress on this build. Also, thanks for putting up links to build to use as a reference. The more info, the better!

Don't know if I'll actually run them but $175 for 16x7 Enkei NT-03's was too cheap to pass up! Really need to be cleaned before I take better photos lol, litterally have bird poop on them wtf

Got in a box, lots more to come
Got around to putting the traction bar in and it was way more work than I expected. Had to drill our the old radiator stay spot welds and pound them out with a hammer. All done and ready for an alignment. We also put the rear pads and rotors on so we could finally bleed the system. After the new prop valve, brake master cylinder, stainless lines and calipers it took a LOT of time to get them all bled.
A few random photos because, should get everything I need to start it this weekend I hope!

Looking good. When you bled the brakes did you bench bleed the master cylinder? In brake experts thread a simple way he explained was to run a hose from the farthest caliper back into the master bleeding it all at once. I did this on mine and it worked pretty good.

I was going to bench bleed it, instead just installed it and used the front left caliper (closest obviously) to get the fluid flowing. All worked well and the brake pedal feels amazing!
REALLY want to drive this car already hopefully Saturday I can get it running

Got a lot of stuff in, few pictures as teasers
The wheels cleaned up really well with some elbow grease. However I didn't like how they looked so I'm going to put them for sale.

Radiator looks pretty good. Looks like I have the same Hasport cable conversion to. haven't tried it out though. Hope it works well.

Sent you a pm oopsie.
Yea I am hoping it works well too. Still waiting on my shifter before I hook everything up but fingers crossed the clutch works
Got my last few wiring pieces today, a ton more tracking numbers of things on the way and my radiator hoses showed up too. Hopefully starting it Saturday still. Was watching the Best Motoring with the SS Autoworks CRX and I hope Huf will come close. Still a lot more to come...

Re: Project Huf, an SS Autoworks CRX Inspiration
This build isn't dead. Installed my hard race front and rear camber arms today. Really nice pieces I was shocked all zinc coated. Have photos up later. Also got more done and it's ready to start!.... Except I decided to relocate my battery so I didn't start it yet.
I also traded in my truck for a 2015 Wrx because it was just too boring to drive.

Those radius rods on that traction bar are the wrong type for the CRX. You would be relying entirely in the bushings to keep the lower control arm from twisting during acceleration and braking.
This brings back memories. I did an SS Autoworks inspired build too back in 1999/2000. I wanted the straight back with no bends exhaust so I removed the gas tank and put in a fuel cell. I bought a new B18C5 engine block and head from the local Acura dealer. Good times.

Re: Project Huf, an SS Autoworks CRX Inspiration
I'll have to look into those id they're wrong bummer
Nice CRX too! Bet that car was a blast to drive
Also photos as promised. Mostly been doing wiring and we all know there is no "fun" pictures of that.
Got some new wheels for the daily driver (not CRX related but it slowed the build down )
Not my car but same color 2015 wrx
and got these wheels for it, stock 2012 sti wheels
Ok back to the crx! New ITR caliper brackets installed I had sitting around from who knows when.
Installed the hard race front and rear camber kits so now my brakes and suspension is 100% complete! Still want to do new wheel bearings, tie rods and hard race bushing kit but we wiull see if time permits it.
Boring wiring and such yay!
Almost ready to start this thing. Relocating the Odyssey battery and need to reroute my heater core lines. Trying to search for a write up anyone know of one? Need to block off all of those annoying lines and would love to use some pre bent lines to prevent getting a kink.

Technically the innovative traction bar is the only correct one on the market because of the way the radius rods are with single hiem joints keeping the factory triangulation. Suspension is looking good. I think hard race has front lower control arms available also. The Timken wheel bearings I ordered through rock auto ended up being NTN's which are OEM manufacturer for Honda. Quite a bit less cost to.

Re: Project Huf, an SS Autoworks CRX Inspiration
Hey strangers! Been busy and haven't really touched it . Got my Odyssey battery and Checkered Sports battery holder so I can relocate it under my dash. Got the wires made and ran out of time to install it. Just need to hook up my battery, plug in my ecu, connect the IAT and IACV sensors and she will run!
I installed the Innovative throttle cable bracket so I now have a working, gas, brake and clutch pedal! Should hopefully start it this week going to actually make time for it. More parts showed up too. Got some sensors, gaskets, brackets etc. all that end of build boring parts. Also black Volk lug nuts! Video of vroom vrooooom soon.
