ok, iv got a d15b2 with an mpfi intake. i m swaping in a dohc zc soon and have a pm6 ecu with a mugen chip, dont know how well this chip works. wondering if i can use this ecu on my d15b2 ? would it make more power? i know the rev limiter is higher but i dont rev my engine to high in the first place. dont plan on using this ecu for long periods of time.

Are you sure it's a Mugen chip? I'm a little confused here.... Your post title says you have a question about a PM7 ECU, but you have a chipped PM6.
Do you just want to know if it will work with a D15B2? Yes. Will it work right for that engine? Not exactly.
A PM6 chipped to run a PM7 program will work great for a DOHC ZC but probably not as well (vs. stock) on a D15B2, they have different fuel maps, etc. especially becuase you have a DPFI motor that you'd be running a MPFI program on.

Edit: Saw you already converted to MPFI.... go ahead and use it, but your gas mileage will suffer slightly. You may feel a slight increase in "power" as well.

Throw a PM7 stock program in the PM6 and call it a day. I have done this many times with no problems.

ya sorryits a pm6 with a mugen chip to make the pm6 a pm7 ecu.. but im not sure how good of a chip it is.

youv done this with a d15b2 with a mpfi swap?

No, with a ZC swap like you say you're going to do. It would be a waste to run it on the D15.

i know it would be a waste.. i dont plan on keeping the computer in there.. jsut wanted to knw if my d15 would make anymore power using it.

alright thanks.. i'll try it out.. i mainly want to see if the ecu really works. i'll probably throw it in for a day then take it out.

1. Run the right ecu for whatever engine you have.
For anything other than a test to verify its a working ecu its a waste of time/money.

2. Stay away from those fake *** Mugen, Spoon etc chips...ridiculous claims/shoddy performance.
Or if you want to be the guy with the kitted Fiero in the driveway. "I just bought a Ferrari."

ya thats what im afraid of is that its fake and just give the engine more fuel and doesnt do it the right way. oh well.. i'll probably end up using my regular pm6 ecu for my dohc zc when its in.

but i did try this ecu in my friends crx with a dohc zc and it worked jsut as well as his integra ecu. forget what code it was. was the other ecu you can use besides pm7/6 pg7 or something, i dont know.
