Re: Password JDM 3 point strut tower bar to be release next week (rsca_crx)
Has anyone that has made any of these comments or arguements regaurding the 3 point strut bar actually ever used one such as the carbing, or rigid. If you think about it there has been nothing offered for the EF. There is a review on there site written by someone on honda-tech and he seems to like it. Now he could of gotten it hella cheap or maybe password is hooking him up if he says good things, or maybeits just his honest opinion. I am waiting on mine to be shipped. Once I get it I will post pictures and my own review on it. If it is worthless, I will sell it and put something else on.

^The reason why I say they don't do much of anything is because my old boss and close friend of mine has won Nationals in STS a few times in a civic EF. Yes he ran the neuspeed bar but after back to back runs in test and tune situation he noticed that the bar doesn't much of anything. We haven't tested the 3 point bar yet, but I doubt that is going to do anything either. Just because it has one more mounting spot on the firewall. I hope center mounting position isn't where you mount the map sensor into those 10mm holes.
I was trying to help you guys out and save some money, but everyone seems to want to argue and be a lawyer, so good luck. Have fun with your JDM bling bling.

well i looked at my firewall today on my crx and i saw no holes where it could be mounted to the firewall. anyone have pics showing exactly where these holes are? closest holes i have on mine are the ones for the dashpots/map sensor on the passenger side of the fire wall not in the middle.

is there room for nuts to put behind the fire wall or will the holes need to be tapped?
Does anyone know the clearance between the intake manifold and the bar itself in a crx with a b18a or if there is any?

The 3 point bars are not legal for SCCA Autocross (except maybe Mod or Prepared). Only 2 point are allowed.

I don't think anyone has one yet, but read this thread, I think your gonna have to take the wiper cowl off and maybe drill into the firewall.

I have talked to a few people, and 1/2 of the people did not notice anything

Finally, i was hoping someone would point that out.
I'll stick with my neuspeed, which was $60 brand new (and if it doesn't reallly do THAT much I don't care, b/c it looks cool )

Re: Password JDM 3 point strut tower bar to be release next week (Mr.Saturn)
I ordered the 3 bar package last night. It comes with the 3 point front strut tower bar, rear strut bar, and the lower rear tie bar. It should be in next week sometime. I will post pics of the install, and how they improve handling. I just hope the front strut will fit over my stock CX airbox...

I just realized this is my first post haha..

I ordered the 3 bar package from password last night. It comes with the 3 point front strut tower bar, the rear strut tower bar, and a rear lower tie bar. Hopefully I will get them in before my B-day ! I will post pics of install, as well as the handling results from these bars.

I was just as password the other day. They did in fact have the EF 3 point strut bars laying there, but not powdercoated yet. They were raw. They said next week they "should" be done.

'course, it points out that the SCCA believes there's enough of a advantage to it that they bump you up that far.
Personally I think it depends on how flexy your chassis is as to whether it'll make much of a difference. With my wobbly chassis & stiff suspension a 2-point bar makes a noticeable difference. 'course that's probably why it came from the factory with one.
OTOH I'll have to look at my firewall and see what they expect you to bolt up to - my guess is it's just a couple normal holes in the firewall, so the bolts will yank out if they get the enough force applied. Really should use some kind of reinforcement plate on the other side to spread any pulling forces.
But... who knows, maybe those are legitimate mount points... maybe I'll check this weekend while I'm installing my box o' OEM replacement parts.

Thats what i was thinkin too. I know the EF bar attaches to the holes where the MAP and purge assembly currently sits. I seriously doubt the holes are anything but threaded holes meant to mount a MAP and purge bracket, not attach a 3 point bar to, lol.

Funny... didnt' even think of that!
I don't think there is any place on the EF firewall that has prethreaded holes AND provides some sort of structural support for a 3 point bar.
I would think adding the 3rd point to these predrilled holes is basically going to do nothing at all!
The firewall is just going to flex, right?
Seems very pointless.

My bad I didn't mean to double post there. I spent $429.99 before shipping, with shipping was $479.09. Don't worry I'll make sure to take good pics !

that is a lot of money. Specially when there is a better product out there that works better and is a lot cheaper
