Thanks for the reply and the instructions. I have seen a main relay but I could not tell by there picture and it just said relay. Is that a good price for the main relay? That website normally has about the best prices.

whats wrong with your main relay? have you tried to repair the solder weld? usually its just a cracked solder dot that just needs to be heated up and rewelded.

other than that, they are plentiful in the junkyard.

but $45 for a brand new one, i guess youre paying for convenience and guarantee it will work. so if youre time is valuable, then yeah, its the cheapest youll find.

Could the main relay cause my car to sputter for the first mile I drive my car? I plan on buying a main relay either way because they seem to be a common thing to go out so it won't be bad thing to have either way. I'm also buying a new fuel filter to see if it helps any.

no, doesnt sound like a main relay issue. could be, but not typically whats wrong with main relays. usually it just wont let the car start on hot days or will shut the car down because it stops supplying the fuel pump power.

I don't have a desodering pump and my sodering skills suck.haha After reading that link my does not like to start sometimes when it is hot out if I don't let the fuel pump prime and then try to start it.

i dunno. my car doesnt like to start quickly either without being primed, but thats just because theres a small leak around one of my injectors that loses fuel pressure over lng periods of time, especially overnight or at the end of the day of work.

its not symptomatic of your main relay in my opinion.
