pantherballhp's build thread
Thought i might as well start one up now since i will be extensively working on the car over the winter. Just some background about me, this is the second honda i've owned. first was a 91 civic standard, puchased for $250 and was my first car purchased when i was 14. I've had a few mustangs and a 400+hp srt-4 since then (built not bought that way btw). Bought this car as a project car that i can beat on on the track pretty much. I own a 2010 mustang gt and i just dont wanna hurt it on the track. not gonna pay a car payment and have it sitting there broke.
so I bought this car to save that one. I knew i would end up boosting the stang if i didnt get something.lol Plus i have many friends around with boosted fwd's and i just couldn't stand it. So i found this car locally already with an LS swap for $900. I couldn't pass it up. Guy said it had some wiring issues but ran. Went and picked the car up and drove it home. first honda i've driven in about 3 years and wow was it different.lol but i've got the bug now and the buying has started. Car is going to need a new harness and i'm converting it to obd1 so i can tune it easier.
going to push the stock block to its max and see what times i can get out of it. since its just my street/STRIP car i dont mind if i blow it and it sits for a while.
Goal: for 2011 10's with the stock block, idk how achievable that is because i'm new in the honda engine sense but i think it might just happen. for the future i want a mid 9's car that can be driven on the street
So here it is 1991 Honda Civic DX.
Car currently has a b18b1 ls engine in it that i'm going to push to its max potential. Car is going to be an ls/vtec motor boosted on about 12-15psi or whatever the engine can handle before it blows cause then the built motor will be going in.
Car has some wiring issues that i'm addressing. here are some pics of that.
Currently purchased parts that are either in the shop or on their way:
ported and polished b16 head with gsr cams, aem adjustable cam gears, b16 intake manifold, new distributor and valve cover(gonna be powdercoated and have -an fittings tigged in for venting)
full obd1 wiring harness that we're going to swap into the car.
Custom fabricated t4 top mount turbo manifold with 44mm wastegate flange.
Parts that i need to finish: p28 chipped ecu and tuning software, t67 turbo, tial 44mm wastegate, frozenboost w/a intercooler with 3" piping, water/meth injection, 044 fuel pump, misc fuel lines and fittings, tial 50mm bov, v2 competition wheels. 6 point roll cage, probably dss axles depending on what holds.
plans to make it clean: full wire tuck(if possible), fix all the little dents and respray the oem color paint, suspension completely went through with new hardware, stainless brake lines, etc.
after those parts I'll be ready for now.
plans for the future:
built bottom end with 9:1 compression, fuel cell with dual fuel pumps, 3 piece front end, fully adjustable coilovers, fiberglass hatch, precision 6765 turbo, built transmission, dss axles.
I will update this post with pics when they come.

Re: pantherballhp's build thread
I would set my target 1/4 mile time goal somewhere high 11 second range for a full body car. Certainly not saying you cannot achieve 10 second passes but if you look around you won't find many in the 10's that are not sponsored full drag cars. Please keep posting your progress and I wish you the best of luck. I would love to see you prove me wrong.

Re: pantherballhp's build thread
yeah i do know what ya mean and it's gonna be very tough. I had a low 11 second srt-4 that i probably could've gotten to the 10's with a little bit of fine tuning with the suspension and slick setup. that was a full weight car also.
with this car being only about 1800 lbs i do think that i can get there but idk about stock block. so it will probably be the end of the race season when i put a built block in it and get things really rolling. my problem is going to come with the clutch, transmission, and axles.

Haha this car is going on a diet lol it's not gonna be a full weight full interior car. But it's also not gonna be a ratty mess of a drag car either.

Re: pantherballhp's build thread
Yeah it's gonna get caged, most of the interior is stripped right now anyways. 1800 is the goal but who knows if I'll actually reach it
