OH NOES Not another build thread (who uses 56k anymore?)
Thought, might as well just make a new thread so here it goes.
12-04-06 - Finally had some time to think and figure out what I exactly want to do. I've decided I'm going to strip the car and rebuild the motor and place it into another CRX. About a year ago we bought this CRX for $250, about 2 months later the good ole rod dropped.
So I did a compression test and find 1-4 are at 150psi, 2-3 are at 50psi . Dropped in some oil into the valves and compression rose to about 125-135psi. I'm pretty sure the piston rings are fried. I'm thinking of just changing the intake and exhaust valves as well. But we will see as I am limited in funds (in college).
Plans are to swap over all the good parts from this car (interior/exterior) and whatever is left I'm going to sell them to anyone who needs parts.
Before:
As of now:
New Shell ($250 Mind You)
Update 12/09/06 - Motor is out!

Re: (jdmazm)
For the most part the head looks good just normal wear, nothing really major. Luckily there were no bent valves or or signs of warping from what I could see.
The cylinder walls looked good and I didn't see any cracks. These wasn't excessive oil or any coolant in the cylinders so I might be in good shape.
I think a set of oem piston rings should do the trick.
Good learning experience yes?
The pics will speak for themselves..

Just at the top where the rings don't contact, looks like it dripped down a little.
to another build thread
And I use 56k................. NOT
