Default OBD-1 issues 88 CRX

Ok guys heres my problem

I have a 88 CRX Si that I recently converted to OBD-1 with a Monotech ecu jumper, P06 ecu and I repinned my dizzy plug
Im running a Z6 bottom end with Y8 head, Skunk2 intake and OBD-2 TB, stock injectors with resistor box, Y7 dizzy, Y8 cam and cam gear

I have read on this combo since before I put it in a year ago, and had it running pretty ok on OBD-0, but now that I have converted to OBD-1 I cant get it to run right

I have NO codes, I did when I first did the swap, but I have since sorted them all out and it now has no CEL

My mechanical timing is spot on, but when I go to time it I have 2 problems

#1 is that I cant get it to idle below about 1200 RPM, unless I unplug the IAC
I have had it idling around 800 when I had a Z6 cam gear on it to retard the cam, and I have checked for vacuum leaks by spraying parts cleaner around on the intake and have not found any

#2 is when I go to time it with a timing light, if I set it at 16* it detonates very badly, but I read that the Y8 head likes about 12*, I have verified that my TDC mark lines up at true TDC with a rod in the #1 cylinder
So as of now I have it fairly retarded and it still idles high and detonates

Also when timing I get it up to operating temp, shut it off, then flip the switch for checking codes and restart, then adjust the dizzy

Im running premium fuel and it is much better than trying to run it on crap gas, but with the weak fuel we have now...

So am I missing something, doing something wrong or does this set up just hate me ?
