NSX brakesetup pictures
After about a year searching for a good setup on my EE9 I finally decided to go for the NSX calipers with 280mm rotors.
The only problem was to get a decent rotor with the right measurements.
Well Alcon had the sollution for me and made a 2 piece 280mm rotor with an aluminium heart.
The setup consists out of:
- revised '92 NSX brakecalipers
- Ferodo DS2500 brakepads
- 2-piece Alcon 280mm rotors
Setup stops on a dime and looks a million

It's a bolt-on process, except for finding the correct rotors.
You could use prelude rotors redrilled at 4*100.
These calipers are the same as the calipers on the Honda Legend (3.2 I think) except for the NSX logo. (wich is a bit over the top I think)
Dual piston....yummy.

Re: (SETI20)
The calipers are allmost exactly the same as Seti discribes.
The only difference, except for the logo, is to be found between the size of the two pistons.
The legend pistons are a fraction larger in diameter than the NSX ones.
So the legend calipers are even better than the NSX.
The NSX and Legend calipers just bolt on the hub of an EE/EF8/9.
I don't know if the will fit any other hub without modification.

Tommy

so you went from around 9.5" to 11" discs that easy? Why would anyone else waiste their time and money to do a conversion swapping knuckles etc if you don't need to to get a bigger break setup?!

Re: (TiggsCRX)
wtf are you talking about...his car comes with 10.3 inch brakes stock, not 9.5...so he doesnt need to swap knuckles, but we do...if yo notice seti even said that its like the civic ex knuckles *hint hint* you need them for this swap...
i personally cant see any pics...i take it you have to use 16 inch rims to clear the calipers and rotors correct?

Re: (crxgator)
You don't have to use 16" wheels to clear the calipers.
A certain amount of 15" wheels will clear them aswell, but it's tight.

How about 15" Mugen MR5's. Do you know if they will clear?
Setup looks good

Re: (markleavey)
Phew, that will be hard to say.
Depending on your offset, wich would be around ET45, and the pattern of the spokes from your wheel it might just fit.
It's to bad I don't know anyone in the Dutch Honda scene with these nice rims, otherwise it would have been possible to fit them under my car.

If you want to be the lightest you need to look further... downside for doing this setup is the increase unsprung weigth... the weight increase is about 2kg per caliper...

Re: NSX brakesetup pictures (TeamNextGenChris)
When my brakelines will be fitted, I'll weigh the rotors as well as the calipers.
As for the costs it all depends if you can get your hands on a cheap set of NSX/Legend calipers at a junkyard.
Maybe Fastbrakes can profide you with the right rotors.

Tommy

Re: NSX brakesetup pictures (ToyZ)
Weight-wise, the custom rotors with the aluminum hats are a step in the right direction. When I swapped to EX fronts, it seemed a lot heavier than the HF setup, didn't weigh anything though.

Re: NSX brakesetup pictures (MMsportsRexSi)
I've hear that the G60 Corrado rotors are the correct bolt pattern and size, hub offset might be off though. Time to get some used rotors and do some testing.
