Icon2 no brake lights

having trouble with a 89 civic dx, the brakelights stopped working last week for some reason but the parking lights still work so i replaced the brake switch and stl nothing and last nite i was messin around with the wireing and no lights come on now, but the turn signals will come on, i didnt dissconnect anything but the rear bulb sockets to be wired up, any help or suggestions

It sounds really stupid but check you horn fuse under your hood. This is what happened to mine last week.
