Default New here

Hey everyone, I just joined recently, my name is Casey. I'm turning nineteen in january and I just picked up one of my many dream cars. last weekend I purchased an 88 CRX HF from a friend of mine for only $100.00. I'm pretty excited to get some work done on it. It still has the stock D15B6 and a 5 speed trans. this is my project car which I'm planing out to have all the motor work and some of the body work finished by the fourth of july next year. I also picked up an 89 CRX Si Shell which I'm planning to use alot of parts from.

I'm not sure what I should be doing to make this car what I want it yet.. so I came here in hopes for some help to find a few ideas.
I'll post some pics of it tonight.

new update. I'll be swapping the D15b6 by tax return time. I'm putting in a B16A1. we are currently getting ahold of the motor and trans. then we will need the ecu and wiring still.. any help on locating these would be great. thanks.

ECU - ebay, junkyard, craigslist, etc.
Wiring - Use the wiring harness that came with your car, get some extra wire and a soldering gun, go to town.
You also need several other things to make this swap work, check the FAQs.

As guitarguru87 said, ECU - ebay, junkyard, craigslist, etc. If you don't want to do the rewiring yourself, Rywire (<link) seems to be a solid place for wire conversions.

If i was you i'd keep the hf stock and get 50-60 mpgs so you can save some money to put in to the si.

yeah, i'm liking the keep the one stock idea. it may not be the fastest car around, but good gas mileage makes up in that area.

if your goin b-series u'll need to get axles, the ecu, wiring, engine and trans mounts, shift linkage, and prolly a few other odd ball things that always pop up. Get the ecu from the car your getting the motor out of, this makes things a lot easier, and if you want the swap to be clean go to rywire for the wiring, you may be able to do it yourself but this will save you headaches and looks great, hasport makes your mounts and linkage, shop around on here and other sites usually you can find that stuff used and cheaper, there are alot of people that have done this on here, use the search function for info, don't over post questions that have already been answered on here, good luck
