Default Project B20 Mugen inside!

yay not posted in here for a whilse!

Sold my 5th crx (delsol SiR, which -is- a crx ) a week ago, and put a deposit down on another mk2 vtec. (this will be my 6th over the last 7 years lol! you name it i have had it lol)

looks like an awesome base shell, Uk vt model, carbon fiber bucket seats, gutted rear interior, D2 32 point coil overs all round, adjustable front+rear camber arms, D2 lower rear control arms, polybushed. B20-vtec (freshly built) with itr copy intake and spoon throttle body, 330cc lude injectors, b18c6 lower crank brace, block guard (its a b20z engine btw) ITR valve springs, valves, retainers, oem b16a cams (not for long) uprated leads. carbon sunroof, carbon bonnet (thats a "hood" btw) excedy 3 puck clutch and flywheel combo. rover mg 282mm front disks+ pads+ calliper upgrade+ braided lines all around. tanabe super medallion racing cat back, some cheap header (soon to be binned for a decent header heh)

And best of all on it is a genuine Mugen bodykit .

list to do:

rear arches cut out and fresh ones welded in.
Obd0 edm ecu needs chipping and then mapping with BRE (long live ben ogle's rom emulator!)
prepping for paint and getting it done.

then hello dyno/drag strip.

so check for an update this sat/sunday for the first pics ill have and what the rear arches look like after meeting with mr.sandblaster heh

yoink its here! B20 rules.

got hunting problem to...car is fitted with a skunk2 ITR manifold and stock ITR throttlebody. hunts between 100-500 rpm quite badly lol!
anyone have a cure for this? im guessing its worth changing all the Throttlebody gaskets, IACV valve gasket until it runs correctly heh.

anyway less talk more piccys:

thanks still cant decide what color its going to be painted. got a list as long as my arm that needs doing though.

Sort out the EACV valve (previuos owner never connected it to the rest of the cooling system....which explains the hunting lol) failing that its gonna be a full overhaul of every intake gasket and hose lol!

tracking and camber needs setting all round. coil overs are way to hard to!
got a squeal at low mph driving, gonna put money on it being a stone in a heat shield lol.

rad is shor and has around 10% of the core fins left in it, luckely the temp this time of year here in the uk never gets over 10c , normaly around -2 -> 5 degc

will update as and when it gets something done heh.

right been slowly cracking away on this heh.

got the eacv valve plumbed into the coolant. the previous owner used the b20 connecting pipe so only one return line for the eacv coolant return. he did not fit the oil cooler either. (must note to get an aftermarket oil cooler etc)

the hunting issue is much better, it still does it but to no way near the extreme as what it used to heh!.
got another PW0 -E00 vtec ecu yesterday and i have sent it off to get socketed for a chip (running BRE with it) then im off for a 20 mile drive up to my tuner to have him road tune the car :D. i think the hunting is being caused by an incorrect afr's (its pretty much a stock map with prelude 345cc injectors)

also the fuel pressure reg seem to be permentaly sat at 22psi on idle lol! gonna test it to see if its faulty (pull the top hose form the FPR and plug it, the fpr should read around 35-40 psi ish)
also i noticed a few intake manifold nuts are missing (another potential hunting area)

anyway hopefully by sunday i should have a non hunting mapped B20-vtec :D

now to get a thread started about setting up these D2 coilovers before they kill my car lol!

heh been cracking away as fast as possible.

went to the garage on sat and spent all morning there.
bonnet (thats hood yo yanks) now sits flush with the wings :D
took the EACV valve of the inlet manifold and sealed her with black silicone, also re-tightened all the intake manifold nuts and the throttle body nuts :D
silicone'd the map sensor and the air intake temp sensor.
so the car now hardly hunts at all (whats left im putting down to a bad afr ratio as the car is untuned :D)

spent a couple of days playing around with the D2 coil overs and have them set much better, still a bit harsh on bumpy roads but it rides much much better :D
also spent the afternoon at my tyre fitters getting it all laser aligned.
went for 1 degree of toe in on the rear and 0 on the fronts, and 1 degree of neg camber all round (need to balance the grip with tyre wear, cant afford lots of £300 tyres lol!)

anyway car is being mapped by my tuner on Thursday evening so the idle should be sorted, vtec lowered a fair amount and all the afr's set to near perfection heh :D

also i decided on the cars color. Honda root beer :D

i just need a paint code as its a color never used here in the uk

cheers

car looks like a good platform to finish up...
there are just a couple of things that I would take care of first.
Those fenders and vc are killing it for me.

lol ya not my first choice of wings either lol!

they will be removed soon enough with some oem ones in place, but not until i remove the entire kit and start de-rusting the body and welding in some new rear arches and sorting the sills out.

also wtf is a vc  ???

I'm not the one to say this most of the time, but the fenders really don't look that bad.

nice car.. when cars like this one are done right, they separate themselves from the rice out there. I don't know what it is about this one that makes it so much nicer than every other primer black-body kitted crx out there.. it honestly looks like it could be honda's attempt at an 09 crx.. call mugen up and get sponsored.

its deffo not staying primer black though, its a really poor spray job and looks gash up close. roll on my honda rootbeer metallic respray heh!
