Default my speedometer wont work

so i was driving down the road and all of the sudden my check engine light comes on and my speedometer stopped working. my car is running fine and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong other than my well....i thought it might be my speedometer cable but it all looks good. what can be the problem. diriving and not knowing how fast you are going isn't really a good thing.

pull out the speedo cable and plug it back in then reset the ECU. my car did this after a tune up about 2 weeks ago and I did that and it went right abck to normal.

well without you indicating it could be 2 things, 1 if you're using a cable tranny make sure the speedo cable is tightly plugged in on the tranny side and on the cluster side, if its loose thats probably why. 2. if you're running electronic vss than check for any wiring binding or something.

thats the only thing i can think of off the top of my head at the moment,

it looks like the speedo cable broke on the inside of the cover... can these be replaced?
