Just got it a few days ago...88' CRX DX 190k miles...mainly stock engine...
It's auto...and would it be possible for me to convert to a manual w/o errors?

and what type of engine should i go with?

First of all Welcome To Honda-Tech.com
Just Don't depend on honda-tech too much like others.

Is this your first car?
Just throw a B16a in it for starters unless you just want gsr motor.
Other than that get used to the car, before you start doing stuff to it

hmm...maybe i'll consider reselling it...considering the previous seller made a deal with me... paid about 3k...for it...i've got all the stock parts...

seats...tires...intake...box....headlights...steer ing wheel...

would u think that was a good deal....

im sort of naive to it still..because getting a CRX was my top priority..

so yea i was thinking of reselling it...hopefully getting slightly more than what i paid for it..and shop around a bit for a manual

Don't sell it. But, you may want to consider getting rid of those hub caps! The auto to manual conversion is fairly easy. I have done it numerous amounts of time. I personally owned a 88 EF hatch that was auto and I converted to stick, a 89 CRX that was auto and I converted to stick, and I now have a 94 Civic EX coupe that I am going to convert to stick as well.

Since this is your first CRX start off small...example: convert to stick, then convert to MPFI, slap an SI camshaft in it, and bolt ons. Once you get used to it then you'll want more.

If this is your first and you want to learn, dont jump in doing any major swaps unless you have help from knowledgable people. Oh yeah...dont depend on people here on Honda-Tech. Most arent very knowledgeable...but some are very impressive! If you read alot of the posts here you will know who they are!

if i were you i would buy an civic 88-91or integra 90-93 clip with a b16 everythings there to swap over or just look for an cheap integra for an parts car and use everything from that to do the swap over believe me its ten times easier then parting together

If you get all the parts from a junkyard, it should be relatively cheap.

You will need:

-manual trans
-manual axles
-clutch kit
-flywheel
-pedal assembly
-clutch cable
-manual ECU
-shift linkage

Its easy to do. With help, you can have it done with in a day, with time to spare.
I dont think you should sell it. CRXs are becoming more and more hard to come by...especially one that hasnt been wrecked!

if i were you, i would resell it. for $3k, you could get an EG, or an even nicer crx that is at least already manual mpfi and doesnt look like that. IMO. I got my CRX HF for $850 with an Si swap and other goodies, perfect body(until i got ahold of it)

i would've liked an HF instead of a DX but i couldnt' seem to find one..maybe if i decide to sell this one...i'll use the money to find one..

i dont know if you read my post but from experience i would get an parts car if you were to swap it over even if you have an b16 its way easier to to do it with a car even just for references personally if i were you id buy an 90-93 integra and use the parts from that it is a complete swap over except axles an mounts for your carand if the b16 ever went youd have an spare ls layin around and could do an ls vtec set up trust me im a honda technican and it is easier the parting things like a few other people have recommend
