Pm6 ps9, pm5 and pm 9 has a blue plug to the upper right the ECU. If you do not stick a wire, paper clip, a bridged female plug, or the OBD0 tool in this blue plug, the LED does NOT blink. I've tried that several times. If the engine is running, it does NOT blink.

So this connector is on the ECU itself? Am I understanding this correctly?

it is a blue connector that hangs down behind the glove box on the right hand side by the sill plate/kick panel. Looks like this. If you don't have something to connect the two pins, the LED doesn't blink. And if the engine is running, it doesn't blink. (I've tried both with my pm6 AND my Pm9 SEVERAL times.)

You shouldn't have to jump it to see the ECU codes(blinks). Should just pull the carpet back and see them flash.

Incorrect. That is the only reason this blue plug exists. The plug is made to act as a scanner to tell the ecu you are looking for codes. The LED on the computer does not show any codes if there is nothing connected to the plug.

Why the hell would they put a plug in the car to allow you to read codes if you didn't need it?

All you need to is turn the ignition on and the ecu will flash it's codes. No jumping anything. I did a mpfi swap using all a6 parts and had no issues.

Ditto which is why I stated the same thing earlier.

This might help.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...ensor-3229667/

One member claim it was his engine harness and the actual cause for the OP was ground issue.

I have tried "just turning the key on" on both my dual point pm9 and my multi point pm6. The LED DOES NOT BLINK without putting a bridged connector in the blue plug. THAT IS WHY THE BLUE PLUG IS THERE.

Yes I am sure. That's is what my friends Hanes manual says. That's what my local mechanic says. That's what every single website and walk through I have EVER read in 2 years has said. And I have TRIED several times to read a code without using some sort of jumper tool as well as with the engine running. The blue plug NEEDS to be connected on OBD0 and OBD1 Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Acura legend and Acura integra. That blue plug is what tells the computer you are looking for codes. It is the closest thing to a scanner available for early OBD/pre-OBD. GM, Volvo, ford, Volkswagen, Mercedes, and a long list of other manufacturers did the same thing. They all had a plug you had to jump/connect/short to tell the ecu to show codes on their early electronically controlled engines.

This is what my Honda Service Manual says. Nothing about jumping.

In the end I hope you figure out your dilemma. Btw...I don't my FITV connected and it runs great. Don't need it in SoCal.

Well if you're sure then I guess I'm wrong but I've had my car for 17 years now and like "rally point 1" stated it doesn't say anything about it in the FSM. What I do recall is the FSM stating to jump a plug located where you are looking to set ignition timing.

Then again you're also "sure" about injectors being OBD specific.
