Default LS transmission to a d16 88 crx?

I was wondering if an integra LS 5 speed would link up properly to my d16. my tranny is going bad and i need to replace it. i have heard that the ls transmissions can take a serious beating so i'd like to install that on my 88 CRX. the transmission is from an 89 LS non vtec b18 integra.

no it will not directly bolt up unless you get a special conversion for it. and trans mounts and more. get a d series tranny its much easier.

your car has a cable operating an arm for the clutch. the newer transmissions have a hydraulic slave cylinder. you need parts or a kit to convert your cable movement to operate the hydraulics

okay. that seems like a quite formidable task. So that is a lot of work to switch out. until what year was a cable used? it would just be easier to forgo the conversion and use a transmission that would bolt right up.
