Looking for pointers and info on which swap to choose for my 91 civic sedan
I am looking into swapping my motor with a b series engine but I need some help and info. There is an attarco motor selling company close to me and they have any engine desired. I just want more speed.
I wanted to do ls vtech but a friend of mine says the wrong gets tricky. He suggested a b18 because if I swap my harness to si (which I may need to figure out how to do) then I can drop and plug straight in.
B18? Or ls vtech?
Or frog it, go all out and do 6 speed k20?!
Money is a concern but I want to spend around 2,000 and try not to be near 3,000.
Give me some info please!

go b18 , easiest to swap ,..and down the road u could slap on a vtec head. i think easiest is the b18a1 ? but a b16 swap might have a lsd tranny already ,not sure ..alot to consider

i went with a high compression jdm b20b and jdm b16 tranny. converted to obd1 also for tuning reasons. b20s are cheaper and easy to find online with low miles.

Ls trannys are cheap but harder to find without grinds.i traded a local junkyard 2 crx si trannys for my b16 one. I originally thought it was an ls but theres no way in hell. I just got lucky really

i'd say go b18a1, super easy swap, still obd0 plug and play after you swap to mpfi. could even get a b16 trans with it. then after if you want ls/v slap a b16 head on it. i just did one in my crx a couple days ago
it all depends on what power you want, 130 hp with b18 or 160 with b16

b16 is vtec-160 hp
b18a or b18b is 130 hp -non vtec
b18c1 or b18c5= 170hp vtec - 190hp vtec also known as your gsr or integra type r motors

if you look around you can usually find a complete b16 swap for right around 2000 or less even. comes with everything you need. usually just need to get the motor mount kit, and run wires to the vtec solenoid.
