I have a B16B in my CRX, and it fits tight on the driver's side of the engine bay. You are going to have major clearance issues with the Brake Master Cylinder and the Strut Tower / Frame Rail.

No...but I've look under the hood of a JRSC'd EK, and I can tell by looking in my engine bay that it isn't going to fit without some creativity.

If this fit with no body mods, Im sure you can manage....I know its front mounted, but if you search in the supercharger thread in forced induction forum, there are a lot of examples of what you are wanting to do.....plenty of info in there.

This doesnt account for the fact that the JRSC has to connect to the rear pulleys near the alternator. To me its not a very good system anyways.

I would go VORTEC all day long.

If HAsport make a kit for a B16 than a GSR with a supercharger would fit no problem.

I see the relocation bracket for the alternator on the picture I posted. I was thinking the alternator was still in the same place. Still going to be a tight fit, though.

I've thought quite a few times about a vortec kit.... It just looks like it comes WAY too far off the front of the motor.

I had a 88 crx b16a with a jackson on it. I still have the JRSCb16 swap that I plan on droping into another crx I have some day.

B16 was already in the car so I didn't have to clearance anything for it to fit. I just had to move some cooling hoses around on the back of the block.

Buddy of mine had a vortec for about a week. They only make power up top and he mushroomed out the top of his cylinders after only a few days of driving. This was about 3-4 years ago on a almost new civic si. The motor was replaced under warranty.

Vortech - takes everything that sucks *** about a turbo AND supercharger, all rolled into one kit!

No low/midrange power, and no abaility to adjust boost with a controller like a turbo!

I'd say turbo it if you want crazy power, or keep the JRSC idea/roots style blower if you want a nice fat powerband at the expense of top end power craziness.

...and although this might not be within your budget a properly sized (not too large) turbo set-up would also provide better low/midrange than a Vortech, especially if you happen to get a ball bearing turbo that spolls more quickly.

You might just have to compare the two MC's.

I thought you said you searched here on H-T???

check the huge JRSC thread in the forced induction forum. there are dozens of b18 jrsc motors in there. it'll fit. just buy the parts.
