Lets Play: What would you pay?!?!
well just seeing what everyone thinks is a good price, I know it is different for different places but i want to get and average....
1991 CRX SI 150K on th chassis
OBD0 B16a1 swap w/ S1 tranny (I think Pace mounts)
JE ECU (said some place in MD, but seems to just be a chipped ecu)
Its on steelies so no si wheels
Body is clean on a little rust on the passangerside rear wheel well and looks to be some on the rear bumper support, drivers side paint is a little more sun faded than the rest of the car but the body seems to be straight
Interior is in peices seems to be all there, the dash was acctually switched to a civic dash and then switch back while leaving the civic skeliton in so it isn't perfect, also has some bucjet/racing seats in it instead of the stockers
Only real negatives are the car has been sitting and the motor starts but sounds like the timing belt is off a tooth, he said it must have jumped while he was driving and had let it sit since then...
It is kind of hard to find CRXs let alone fairly clean SI shells around here so that would make it fairly valuable plus it has the swap already, juts looking for opinions on what is a good deal, more than likely I will be getting th car this weekend

Re: (91civicEX)
well i paid $1200 last august for my '91 Hf with 118k and it was bone stock, and i mean not a single mod, pretty clean though, someone took care of it well. so taking that into consideration and the fact that this Si has some rust, needs paint and some other small things, it has a swap, i'd pay $1800 tops for it i think, maybe 2k if he put the stock bumpers and moldings back on.

Re: (MaD_VTAK)
Well I already have a 91 SI I am just looking for a clean shell to swap everything over to, i have look at the car in person it is an SI, it is hard to see the sunroof because of the glare, I am not new to CRXs just wanted to know what everyone was thinking it is worth, he is getting out of cars other than the hatch that is infrontof it which is his babe so he is also giving an *** load of parts mostly useless to me but I can make a few bucks here and there off of them...I also has the full WW kit just not on the car...other than the small spot of rust and the sun fade the car is a very decent body
I am take all your opinios into concideration but also i this are a SI can fetch a pretty penny...commonly see DX, I was figuring the swap was worth about $1500 or so and the shell was worth about another $600 but was going to offer him $1800

Re: Lets Play: What would you pay?!?! (heart)
Hmm...everyone seems to be in the 1200-1600 range?? I can't even find DX areound here for that usually, anyone know something I don't? I paid $500 for my 91 Si which is 5 color because it was hit in the front, has the same rust as the one above and had the stocker a6 in it and didn't run...so I mean even just adding the swap would bump it up to $1500 and I like the WW kit just because my bumper is hacked uo for my front mount and that one would give me some room and that is worth a couple hundred since it is the eurathane one...I don't know maybe i am missing something here

Re: (USDMSiR)
sunroofs suck anyway...top heavy and just more parts to go bad in time. if you're just going to swap everything over, what's it matter if it's an si,hf or dx (besides wiring)?
I'd say just offer him what you think it's worth in your area and see if he bites on it. If not, wait a day and see if he comes back. If not, offer him a little more and go from there. Then you can sell yours for $500 and make up some of the cost. If you're getting what you want and you think it's worth it, do it.
These cars just cost more in different locations. A local guy was recently selling an HF with a clean body but would need some tranny work fairly soon for $3900. I passed on that and held out...would have preferred the HF, but it was way overpriced in my opinion. I ended up finding a pretty mint Si for $1600 in Illinois. You seem to know how much they go for in your area...that will be your best research.

Re: (doitdub)
I think it very much depends on the location.
Here in cali, I wouldnt pay more than 1500 for that, if the body is all straight.
(but there would have to be 0 to 1% rust)
Altho I have a question.. the paint looks all shiny on the passenger side and all faded on the drivers side. Is it really faded or something u can buff out and make better?

Re: (crXpo)
Damn no one reads...It is an SI...it has a sunroof along with all the other Si features...just a bad pic...also it is faded on the one side worse than the other, it looks like it just had that side sitting the sun forever and the other side didn't
Yea i know it depends on location but I wanted to see what everyone else was paying and I guess my area sucks for CRXs and I have been searching for a good SI shell and this is acctually the first SI I have found for a while that is somewhat decent, acctually most of the CRXs under $2500 are kind of trashed and show there age
