sorry to hear that it did turn out to be a DX tranny mate. good luck with getting a refund.

also, to the tard that sold it to you...just because you take it from a "si" crx it doesnt mean that all parts are si....check your **** before you assume. i certainly hope you bought the car with the tranny in it and didnt put that "si" tranny in yourself....because that would make you even stupider.

They are. It's just a simple ring and countershaft swap. The only thing that sucks is that the DX/HF case uses smaller bearings, leaving the entire assembly significantly weaker than the Si counterpart.

If you swap the FD, you will need to use the second countershaft bearing from the DX tranny on the Si countershaft.

It's #12.

On the DX/HF it is a ball bearing with an OD of 52mm. On the Si this bearing is a roller bearing with an OD of 52.2mm. If he installs the Si countershaft in the DX case, the rear housing will not fit properly without replacing the second countershaft bearing.

FYI: Honda's parts system is all fucked up when it comes to ordering '88-'91 Si tranny bearings. Even slhondaparts has the DX bearing listed for the Si tranny. You need to purchase the second countershaft bearing, outer mainshaft bearing, and diff carrier bearings for a B series '99-'00 Civic Si.

Well, if these pics and the description that Locovirus have given are the tranny that you sold him, MrEF8, then you did indeed sell him the wrong transmission. If he paid for an Si transmission, and you sent him a DX transmission, then (whether intentionally or not) you've committed fraud. I don't care if the tranny came OUT of an Si body - if you're selling parts on ANY Honda site as much as you do here, you should be able to tell the difference.

I don't know for a fact if you're a scammer or not. I *DO* know that you don't seem able to act in a mature, professional manner about all this, and that I wouldn't even begin to think of buying anything from you, here or anywhere else. And I'd strongly recommend to others not to buy from you. Not because I think you're intentionally dishonest, but because I don't think you actually KNOW what parts you've got, or what you're selling, or how to represent it accurately. Let's just say your customer relations skills could use some work.

give him his money back or give hime money for a Si final drive, it's most deffentally a DX/LX tranny, all you have to do is look at the design of the diff bearings

LOL Exactly!!! I signed on today and had this pop up in my face:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by MrEF8 in a PM &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> MrEF8 (3:00 AM 1/14/2005): hey im me the guy that people think im a scammer if you think that way then **** you
MrEF8 (3:00 AM 1/14/2005): because im not one

MrEF8 (3:08 AM 1/14/2005): then why the **** im trying to sell everything on honda=tech
and you know what he had the tranny for like 2 weeks and didnt say **** then
MrEF8 (3:08 AM 1/14/2005): 2 weeka what the **** is that all about....
</TD></TR></TABLE>

How in the hell did *I* get in the middle of this????

I don't think he even has a 91 Si CRX, look at the pics of "his" car. I am no expert when it comes to the EF chassis but it looks like the fenders have the spot to screw in the corners. That would make it an 88-89 CRX, because the 90-91 doesn't have the screws in the corners. (Maybe I am mistaken, but if you would lie about the year of "your" car then you would lie about the selling this man a lower model tranny).

good luck with the VISA fraud protection, I hope you get your money back!

as i stated before the transmission was sent to my parents place. i live in an apt...not really a good place to send a transmission. when he sent it, it was during finals week. i could not of gotten home that week. then it took me a week alone to inspect and crack open the tranny to know what i was looking for......and yes you are the most immature person i know. you remind me of "ricers" who think they know everything and think they have the fastest car in the world.....and r33civic is right then you are trying to scam people by selling that 88-89 crx for a 91.....
