Yes, the heads will interchange no problem at all. The ticking is most likely coming from the lost motion assemblies. The first gen b16 heads tend to have that problem due to the age and milage. Just have a machine shop check for straightness of the head. Hope this helped you

1st gen heads are among the best the best quality out there. As mentioned above, the LMA are probably where the noise is coming from, easy enough fix. I wouldn't bother with a new head

^ Yup,and search LMA replacement (lost motion assemblies keep the VTEC rocker "tight" when out of VTEC and the older designed ones "tick" due to their "internal type" design spring sticking internally from the housing wear causing teh ticking noise) Newer designs of the LMAs (ie, latest prelude H-series + S2K) are better due to them being only a spring,no housing to stick! And YES,they DO work in B-series! Can't recall part numbers rt off,(SEARCH,Waaaaay TOO EARLY TO SPOONFEED YET!) but teh prelude ones model = 9.xx ish ea and the other model = 25.xx ish ea! (25.xx ones have machined "spacer" ends, and the 9.xx ea ones require purchasing a .060 ish thick hardened spacer under ea one to use them in B16 heads (x 8 total LMAs in a DOHC VTEC head btw when ordering/sourcing from used head) Need do this to muh OBD0 B16A also,BADLY!!! Soon Even! Hope some of this makes sense, still waking up,prolly just opened a whole nother can-o-worms of questions for teh OP,ha! Of course, one COULD search the FAQ some...

Ahem,like these:

Bought muh set from scienceofspeed DOT com ,correct length already. (you can get teh 9.xx each ones + use hardened washers as already mentioned-but deal for 126.90 shipped to me in 2 days considering teh dealer's price for them are 25.xx ish each.) So 85.xx ish + cost of 8 hardened washers,200.xx ish plus shipping for dealer's price on these with both end "buttons",so their price seemed ftw to me...

(Installing these in muh CRX'z B16 rt nowz, prolly do mini write-up soon)
