Default JDM engines

Can someone please point me in the right direction to a reputable JDM engine dealer? H Motors is pretty much sold out of everything for the next two months and I don't want a piece of **** from a place like Tiger Direct. Im looking for a GSR motor and trans to drop in my CRX. For some reason I don't have rights to access access the sticky for JDM engines either. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Sorry dude, I got mine from a local importer, but I have read hit or miss on tiger.

A lot of ebay sellers have good reviews though

thanks bro! I've read some good things about Toronto JDM but i was trying to pick up a swap more locally San Diego or LA but reputation means alot with motor importers especially these days with the selection getting slimmer. so maybe Canada it is eh?

Find the closest one to where you live, even if it is hours away. Drive over and pick one up. Have them do a compression test in front of you.

When I did this, I went to jdmenginedepot. They walked me around and let me pick which engine I wanted off the shelf. The first one didn't crank, so I got my second pick.

I found a seller on ebay from Cali. I then negotiated a price offline that included shipping. I've had the engine a year and a half and it still is running great.

This is there website.

that's great advice whited, I think that is what I will do. Either way I would do a compression test when I received the motor. Kinda ridiculous that so many of these importers sell motor's that are sized or have bad compression. I wonder how often that works out for them....
Ill check egay prodjay10, I did that with a d16 about 10 years ago and it worked out alright and I've been looking on there now I'm just a little hesitant and havent seen too many listings in So Cal for GSR engines. Thanks for the advice and help everyone! This 300k mile HF motor served its time well but its time to go!

Glad to see you took my advise. I've been in this game a long time, and vouch for them. In fact, only 25 mins away from my place

It will make for an awesome swap!

Thanks deetz! They seemed like some cool, knowledgeable guys. In fact they know the honda dealer down the road from me, they sell them replacement motors so I knew they weren't bullshitters. Pretty random info to know about So Cal living in Canada.
