Default issue with cable tranny...

well today i was driving it NORMALLY going coasting through my gears to 5th gear cruising on the highway... and i got off and was on a stop light... i was trying to put it in gear.. and the shifter was stuck!... it was in neutral.. and when i was disengaging the clutch.. it would take off in 4th gear.. but it would tell me its in neutral... i manage to drive it home thank god...
well i tried and force it in 3rd.. it work but it made a really squeeling noise... and i was able to shift it 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and reverse... but it would squeel.. 4th gear wouldnt squeel.. i tested it around the block.. slowly took off in 1st.. then the wheel locked up on me! and got stuck in 4th gear again...

stop rambling on... im pretty much stuck in gear again.... i checked the linkage.. it looks like it pop out a lil bit... pics will be up tommorrow.

looks that way.. im giong to lift up the car and check it out tommorrow...

but if u read the first post... it sorta works :S

like it feels like its in neutral.. but its stuck in 4th gear right now...
when i somehow get it into other gear and actualy neutral... every gear beside 4th sounds like theirs something loose thats squeeling... 4th is the only gear that works fine without wheels lockin up...

looks like the bitch pin came off and the linkage is loosely on the selector shaft. soo it may be able to still operate certain gears but not others cause its slidin

x2 you don't even have the clip or the boot on it either. Also it looks like your missing the shift rod oil seal as well.So I would check your tranny fluid after you fix your shift linkage.

yea somethins def up with the linkage. theres too much of the shaft on the trans showing in the picture which is what makes me think the linkage isnt on all the way. so it may push forward into selected gears but slips coming backwards

well... i put some oil and redrain it to see if anything comes out.... well oil is clear as i put it in nothing out of the usual came out...

i somehow got it unstuck.. but im scared to drive it now because its like how it was when i explained it in my first post...
it goes into all gears... but when i disengage the clutch it makes a weird noise and it stops when i engage the clutch...n

in your pic,it looks like your missing the shift rod oil seal. That's probably where it was leaking from and your syncros most likely messed up.

LOL its easier to just pull the motor and swap it rather than swap it with the motor in.Man it was bitch getting the spline lined up,when I tried to do it with the motor in.It only takes a hour and 30 mins to pull a motor out.

i prefer not to pull the motor itself out lol alot more bolts to work with....

i dont want to deal with bs crap... so i will most likely pay the extra 300$ for my buddy at the shop to put it in within 3 hrs lol....
ill atempt a trans swap again probably when i get this tranny rebuild if i dont decide to sell it

it was a pita trying to get the bitch pin out.... and the axles
