integra not starting help
i just rebuilt a b18a block for my 97 integra ls the old block blew up while driving on the highway due to lACK OF OIL after buying a new block and rebuilding that one (which i did at home) i also honed the block with a drill hone with b12 and put in new rings rod bearings etc. the problem is that it doesnt start. i did a compression check and the pistons are at 90-120psi could it be bad honing or leaking head gasket (which is new) im not sure if im doing the comp. check right either. or a sensor due to the blowing of the block. im just confused about it all
ps i have rebuilt engines before and they worked i have expeirience just pissed from the project any suggestions???

Re: integra not starting help (abbas)
well, this is the ef forum.. but im sure there are some ef guys that have a b18 around here..
your compression looks low to me.. it could be that one or more of your rings didnt seat properly. if your head is warped, you could be getting leakage as well from that. since you said you used a new head gasket, i assume you used oem honda? if so, then 90 compression is real low..
for your compression check, just thread your pressure guage into the sparkplug hole, have the other 3 sparkplugs out completly, and have someone turn the engine over a couple times and just read the highest point the needle hits. its not an exact science unless youve got a digital pressure guage with memory. either way 120 psi on one cylinder and 90 psi on another, then your rings most likely didnt seat. good luck.
