Bigger isn't better. Stick with a light weight motor so you can turn the damn car. How much power is totally dependent on how much money you want to throw at a 17 year old motor and car... On an unrebuilt D16A1 with boost, I'd say 180 HP with proper tuning (10 lbs per HP with that much power- better than an SVT Cobra), and upwards of 350 if you built the motor and got top quality turbo components and knew what the hell you were doing.
There's a replacement for displacement: Boost. Don't be so hard up to swap some ******* prelude motor in there. There's cheaper, more reliable, more feasable, more realistic ways to get lots of power stuffed under that stubby little hood of yours.
*edit- Keep in mind too, Hondas aren't drag cars. To get it into the 9's would run you upwards of $25,000. $25,000 into an unsponsored 17 year old econobox is a joke if you ask me. Sure, it'll run 9's, but at the end of the day, it's still a $300 Honda... Not trying to hate, but you have some delusions of grandeur that need to be headed off at the pass.
Before you ask anything else, let me ask you this... How much money do you have to spend? Be honest.

LMAO... can you say "alter ego"? no way is this guy real. lol
but, if you wanna break nines...
it's not gonna be streetable... I say go for the H22A and T04E that biznatch... lol. as mentioned, it's gonna be nasty understeer. turning nines is not easy, in fact, you should really just drop the car off at a shop like Area 51 and say "NINES!" leave a blank check.

Re: i wana do a motor swap but i am really stumpt (89_Y_49)
I have heard you cannot get traction with h22 in that little car.... I dont think it is worth the 20-25k just to **** someone off... why dont you just juice what you have and pop his tire or something... then at the end of the race buy him a new tire... the guys running 9's have like fiberglass body panels 10pt rollcages massive(expensive turbos) and someone else paying for it(im guessing). If you want to show him up with an import i would do it with a DSM awd turbo. It would probably be cheaper and you could probably still drive it everyday. IMO spending damn near 30k to **** someone off has got to be the dumbest **** i have ever heard unless your donald trumph. Put all that money you have in your 401k or something.
