How much have you spent on your CRX so far?
just wonder how much have you spent on your CRX so far?
For the 2 month I had my rex I spent CAD$4,000 already (tires, breaks, exchaust/muffler, CAI, water pump, etc)
I've seen guys putting over $20,000 in their CDM/USDM/JDM CRXs?
Is it really worth it?

$1288.17 Including price of car and swap. I cant say my crx is in great condition though still needs body work/paint and suspension upgrades (or atleast OEM replacements)

Myself, i have spent like 8 grand, and not even close to the car i thought it might be. I had all sorts of suspensions stuff, but sold all ofthat. Put new motor in and does not run like it should, so pisses me off and makes me never want to put performance stuff in a honda ever again. With all the money i have ever put in this car, im completely unhappy with its performance. Of course i put a motor with all sorts of internal work, and still did not do the dpfi mpfi swap, but thats what happens when you run out of funds. Now that i have money i dont want to mess with it. I just try to keep it running, thats about it.
Thanks,
Matt

When we first bought the rex Mar 03 I spent just under 6 grand. In about Oct 03 we decided we were going to rebuild her from the ground up and I stopped adding the receipts at 12 grand and figured to finish it up I need another 6800. Is it worth it or even logical to spend that kind of money on a car that is 13 years old? Probably not, but for me its worth every penny.

I've had my 89 CRX now for 7 years and am into it for about $18,000 CDN dollars. I have no regrets though as the can is still in new condition being it hasn't seen a winter since the mid 90's. Good looking clean CRX's are becoming more rare every year, so when i do bring it out, many people notice the car. I number of JDM parts seem to top it off with the uniqness. I have replaced every system in the car with new oem, or better than. I never built it to resell.

Bought the car for $7,500 in June 1994, and am probably a little over $20k now total. I'm a total idiot mechanically, so I've paid for things that most here have the ability and ***** to do themselves. Still, the little things add up.

Well lets see...
If I add up the receipts I have for my CRX project (since 5 years ago) It would come out to be about $18,000.
This includes, 1st ZC motor setup, T-25 turbo setup, SC50 turbo setup, misc (wheels, seats, small stuff), second ZC that I was going to build up, Built B18C1 that is now in the car, SC61 turbo setup.
The car is almost ready to run 10s.
IMO, it was worth it 100%. I love this car.
