our 89 STD hatch - fully gutted similar to yours, although not as much taken out of doors - all lexan windows - all steel body, except for carbon fiber hood - gas tank removed (we have one gallon fuel cell up front) - EG radiator - DOHC ZC engine and transmission - headlights removed - lightweight wheels

the car weighs 1410 lbs on the scales at Bandimere Speedway in Denver

we did basically what you did inside the car, except you actually did more cutting to the doors - we removed every unused bolt and bracket from the body - we replaced the entire hatch with one piece of lexan that runs from the bumper to the roof, notched around the tail lights (see picture below) - removed gas tank and all of the fuel lines - removed bumper bars - removed the entire wiring harness, underhood and inside the car - we are running dual Weber carbs and don't need all of that wiring or the ECU - other than that, and what I mentioned in my earlier post, that is about it - all 4 of our wheels and tires weigh around 55 pounds total which is about what 2 stock wheels and tires weigh
