Headers heat shield
I got a 90 crx si and was wondering if there is any reason for my rusty stock heat shield? If you are experienced about this please list out pros and cons.
I've seen a lot of engine bays pics without any shields so I was wondering if it is really needed lol.

well, if you have a header, like the dc with that ceramic stuff, you don't really need it. It's more for safety, but I see people use heatshields on aftermarket headers, and I think it looks nice. I'd repaint it and leave it on.

consider removing the stock exhaust manifold completely! the stock design, even the Si, is horrible.
any 4-2-1 is better and will free up a lot of power. even a later civic OEM 4-2-1 design works fine. i use a Y8 exhaust manifold. seems to work just as good as the DC 1 piece header i used before.

If you think the heat shield looks horrible, wait 'til you see the bare stock exhaust manifold.
I vote for keeping it on if you're staying with the stock header. Even with an aftermarket header, I'll weld on brakets to kee it on just in case the cops want to look at the engine bay.
