Having ignition troubles...

Having ignition troubles...
Have replaced an ignition wire harness twice and problem still exists, car starts with key, or screwdriver into the ignition harness, before i plugged it back into the end of the key switch... but it won't shut off with the key, I need to put it in gear and slowly off the clutch, was wondering where I should start lookin for electrical problems, I have also noticed that the 12v power is shorted, as it shut my phone off as soon as I plugged it into the charger. Anywhere to start would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Having ignition troubles...
What mods have been done that would have affected the wiring?
Alarm? Cluster swap? Radio install? etc...
What exactly do you mean by 'ignition harness'?
Just wiring going to the back of the ignition switch or the complete under-dash harness?

I bought the car, and the electronic ignition switch, the harness that just plugs into the back of the key switch, was not in the back of the key switch, started with a screw driver. It appeared to be new, but I replaced it anyway, thinking maybe it was shorted out, to no avail, problem still occurs. It has a CD player hooked up in the dash, and it has the original cluster, no alarm, manual windows and locks.
EDIT: I also have HID headlights, not sure if that would matter, but I guess it could.
