Fuel Pump replacement in an 89 CRX Si
I need to replace my fuel pump. The car is an 89 CRX Si with a B16 swap.
Do I really have to take off the fuel tank to replace this?
I tried taking off the center cap thats underneath the interior in the rear (the one with the three philips screws) but all I found was my gas measurer thing.
Is there something I'm not seeing here or am I going to have to turn this into a full day project and just remove my fuel tank?

How sure are you that the fuel pump's your problem? I've gone through the hassle of dropping the tank to replace the pump, only to find out that WASN'T the issue... If you're SURE that's where the problem is, drop it; if not, find out for sure what's going on. What's the car doing? Or not doing?

Well, its not starting. Turns over fine but it never catches.
I guess I am going on an assumption -- when I turn the key to accessories I don't hear my pump when I did before, so I assume its the pump. The only other possibility I can think of is that its the wiring, which I haven't tested but their still completely intact.

Bingo. 95% of the time, that's the classic symptom of a main relay gone bad. LOTS easier to change than a fuel pump, and cheaper, too!

Do a quick Google search (or search on this site) for "main relay crx" and you should find some good how-to's.

thanks, found it and ripped it out
now how the hell do i check it? I did google it and came up with this page:
http://www.markl.f9.co.uk/howt...y.htm
but to be honest i dont know anything about electronics and how to fix them internally... i would just as soon replace the whole thing. but how can i just check it to see if it works or not?
