Its not a good time its normal, a hatch quick drive run mid 15-high 15, my d16a6 run 15.503 with weight reduction and 2.5 mandrel exhaust. ZC should run about 14.8-15.3

True that, I'm running 15.8's completely stock 89 CRX Si. That sounds normal, or maybe a tenth or two quicker than your average joe. I used to have a ZC in my CRX in Japan.

"stock b16s will run high 14s.. i doubt your tired old d series will run low low 15s."

Some people need to be slaped silly before you make any sense to them.
The Dual cam zc is not realy a D series engine for a start, otherwise it would say D instead of Z, secondly the dual cam zc's are rated by honda at 129 PS in japan, what you guys fail to realize is thats WITH Power steering AND AC, its actualy more like 140 PS. I dont know alot of people running power steering and AC's on there zc's (There are a few) but just to give you an idea of what these engines that put out a whoping "30" hp less than a tired old b16a can do (They were made the same year, how many of you guys are running obd-1/2 b16A's?)
Here is a dyno graph of a dual cam zc with an intake, thats it, just an intake (IE stock header, exaust, timing and everything else) Oh yea, this is also with a crap *** DX transmition that eats alot of power in transfer due to the crap *** gears.

It runs a 15.4 so I can see a ZC with I/H/E/C and good driving hiting 14.9-14.6

Thanks to 91cxpluss for dontaing his dyno's.

the ZC is a D series engine. next thing you will be telling me is that the SOHC VTEC ZC isnt a d series engine either.. wow it doesnt have D stamped on the block, but it is a D series engine.

and as for the times, i never said a ZC couldn't pull mid 15s; a d16z6 with bolt ons can pull a mid or low 15 (ZC and Z6 are pretty even), its this....
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Its not a good time its normal, a hatch quick drive run mid 15-high 15, my d16a6 run 15.503 with weight reduction and 2.5 mandrel exhaust. ZC should run about 14.8-15.3

Your frends zc was iether a pos or a single cam.
Or he couldnt drive for crap, which is probably the best explanation because a single cam zc in a 4th gen will run alot better times than that.

My best run was a 15.53 with a shitty 60's and me not knowing how to drive it.. I see a 14 out of this car with some new tires and learning how to drive it..

I have a B16A1 w/ H/I/E.. I am going back to the track hopefully with stripped interior, lighter wheels and better tires, and no body kit and a couple more runs under my belt to see if I can hit a 14..

If you want to fully deflate his ego you need to post time slips and dyno charts.
