Default A few P28 OBDI chipping questions

I have an OBDI P28 that fried that was chipped to run my LsVTEC.
Just bought a new ECM with a custom mapped chip, but noticed some differences between the two and some instructions for chipping.

.

i copied and pasted this from a link.

"Honda was nice enough to label on the board where everything goes. Place the 74 HC373 chip on the board where indicated and solder it in place. R54 should be filled with a 1k to 1.2k resistor(the exact value does not matter). C51 and C52 are 0.1µf ceramic disc capacitors(12V or better will work fine). Place a 28 pin socket for the ROM where 27256 is marked."

I was checking out and comparing my new P28 and my old P28, and they are both chipped.
I noticed some differences, and was hoping you had some input.
First, the 74HC 373 chip is different between the two.
My old one has a MM74HC373N
and the new one M74HC373B1

I'm assuming these are the same thing, and the other numbers and letters don't matter.

Second, it states C51 and C52 should have capacitors...neither of my ECM's have them.

lastly, my new ECM has a capacitor on the RP 17 spot, near the 27256, and my old one doesn't.

and what does C1 or C2 mean on the chip board? anything?
My old one is C1, and the new one is C2.

This is my old ECM that ran the car for two years.
notice the C52 is empty, and so is the spot between Rp18 and Rp6 (which is Rp17)

C52 need to had the capacitor

RP17 is always empty when it's a Manual ECU

maybe i'm seeing things, but isn't that "mugen" chip in backwards in the pic? i mean the label is upside down but that's not what i'm talking about. the "notch" on the end of the chip should be facing the same way as the rest of the chips.

the capacitors are technically "optional" since they are used to filer electrical noise, but it isn't a bad idea to have them. the car will run fine without them, though.

I don't know which way the chip should go...

The Honda tech guy that pulled my ECU gace it to me this way....

Unless he pulled it out for some reason and then put it in wrong, I don't why he would do that though.

my new ECm has the notch facing the same way as all the others....

hmmm....maybe he did take it out and put in wrong....cause if he didn't....it ran my car this way for over two years and it rocked!

what would happened if it was put in backwards

well the reason i mentioned it is because i've heard of people putting them in the wrong way and then frying the ECU so i thought i'd warn you. but if it did run the car then it must be in ok.

the last picture on this page shows the correct orientation:

dude dont run that mugen chip in your car get a real chip made by someone that knows where their doing with a wideband...mugen chips only seem to make the car run really rich and ****. And raise the rev limiter up higher than the car really needs it to be.

yeah, I got an ECU mapped from Erick's Racing ENgines, it's supposed to have Type fuel and ignition curves to run my LsVTEC
