Ed6 Road/Race Build***Function>Form
Hi everyone, today I'm starting my second thread about another ed6 build. Maybe you saw my Steelies stanced ed6 before here you can read it: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/stance-ed6-road-project-3132525/ . I sold this car because I realised that stance wasn't my thing at all and since in Quebec winter destroy our roads, this ride was unrideable.
So for this one will be completely different, I'll be focused on real/quality parts. I sold my other ed6 this spring and got my new one a few weeks ago. Winter coming soon but I already started looking and ordering parts.
So let's start by showing you my new ed6 I'll be working on :D Ready?
Since I live in a northern city, no more clean ef are still alive so I needed to travel 5 hours away from here to take this little beauty over here.
Here is she waiting for me to eat my sub at subway on the road to come back home Haha
For all of those who wonder, this is not the original paint . Car was white but he got repainted probly cause of rust damage.
NuFinish job. Kinda did a great job!
Some shots from the interior and yes I do have oem radio :D.
Automatic for now.
Some great quality photos coming soon.

The car has 215k km. Engine might need a rebuild but I have some plans in my head :D.
Just a little stupid question, will stock b16a engine mount from jdm crx fit bolt on in an american ef? Or I absolutely need aftermarket mounts? No my plans arent to get a b16a...... hahaha

Club is funny!
You mounted it so that a theif could still drive the car.
It needs to be mounted so that it jams between the A-pillar and windshield.

That explains it. I never knew how those were 'suppose' to work. But still, how hard is it to take a flat head and a 19 mm socket and remove the wheel. A pair of vice grips and roll out. If you are gonna hot wire a car... ya know. Just saying.

wouldn't matter how you mounted the club. all a thief would need is a big *** knife, or hack saw and cut the steering wheel. pry the wheel apart, and slip off club.
and op, you have to double check on that mount issue. i've heard rumors of people using stock mounts to fit a b into a ef. never really looked into it, but if you think about it, how do you think the old school guys do engine swaps before big manufacturing companies made custom ones? they did the grunt work and tried a lot of ways to make a b fit into a ef.

Well. I've seen people take whatever mounts came with the motor and fab mounts on their car. That's how they use to do it. Hell, that's how a lot of people still do it. Not in the Honda world. But most of the 'car build' shows you see, they just weld in brackets for the motor mounts to sit in and call it a day.

also thinking about it. think you can get by without hammering the firewall by the alternator by running a shorter belt.
and for some reason i keep on thinking some have tried a combination of da mounts with dc mounts to make it fit.... or was it del sol b16 mounts with other mounts.... just don't remember where i heard it from.

As for mounts, try it if you want. I lucked out and got my mounts with my motor.
