Re: Deetz's crx rebirth -been parked for 7 years
Update!- Spring 2016, how many years has it been now, lol
Anyway, one of the challenges i've had to finish off this car was wheels! Since i did the brake upgrade, most 15" wheels weren't going to do the trick, so i have been searching high and low for the right combination, found them!!!
Was able to locate a clean enough set of 16" Enkei RS Evolution rims. They're located a couple hours out of town, but worth the drive. I used to have a set, but sold them off with a different car years ago, but always loved the design

I wish I wasn't always so busy these days, my car needs so little to finish off. I do have a couple things to share though.......
first, I managed to find a genuine Crx rear disk swap. Many years ago, I gave into the idea of rear disk brakes, and accepted a set from a 1991 DA Integra. It added weight to the car, didn't perform any better, but certainly looked better. The biggest problem with DA brakes, is that the rear geometry changes slightly, also making the rear wheels stick out a bit, leaving even less room in the rear wheel wells for nice rims. I was fortunate to run across an old friend who offered me a very very clean rear disk setup that came in from Japan from an actual cr-x. Cost $100. I totally picked it up and will swap it in place, very happy about this!
2nd, exhaust!! Though I did have a plan to use the 5Zigen axel back I sourced out, I ran into another long time friend that offered me a deal that will never show up again. It's been out of production for years, but getting this new full cat back installed. It's a brand new Greddy SP specific to the crx, taken out of the box, just for pictures. Take a peek.......

Nice score on the exhaust, I have the greddy sp2 on my crx and it sounds great

Greddy exhaust sure is pretty. Also agree with the DA rear disc conversion. Not quite like the EG/EK chassis with that stuff.

Re: Deetz's crx rebirth -been parked for 7 years
i have had something similar happen lately too, my favorite car, my 1990 crx si w/ dohc zc has now been sitting, parked, barely being used since i got an 03 accord coupe, which has been my main car, due to just having more updated power features and airbags and such, and automatic so its easy to drive in traffic or that type of thing, but i just never ever thought that i would get to this point, where i'm not driving the crx or working on it like i used to all the time, and i am trying to more, cause i know if you don't run it and let it sit to long unused, it ends up eventually rotting and stuff starts getting ruined,
one reason i don't work on it much is cause for a lot of years in the past, i always had "to-do lists" of things i needed to do to work on the crx, and eventually over the years, i ended up crossing each thing off, so most of all the stuff it needed has already been done, but there are a few things i can do if i wanted to have something to work on, but i already did all the main stuff like how it functions mechanically, quieting as much stuff around the car as i could with sound dampening in panels, solving all the water leaks it had, getting rid of any rust or protecting and preventing rust from happening, and all that type of stuff, so just leaves small type of projects that are'nt real important to do.

I'm still having issues with photobucket and their new hosting requirements. Today is a wheel update. I do have a very nice set of SSR 15" Type F wheels, but still a bit of a clearance issue with the BBK Wilwood brake calipers, almost to the point I've been thinking about removing them. Yesterday, I ran across this set of decent 16" mags, total cost of $125 for the set, crazy huh? Well, they fit so nice, and clear the calipers. If I decide to use them on the crx, I will have them refinished in a gunmetal. Anyway, here are a couple shots.....
They clear!

if I didn’t have to work so much, things would move a lot faster, but then again, I’d have less $$ lol
we have some nice weather now, so I hope to get some progress soon. I was lucky to find a guy here whose plans for an ef project didn’t materialize, so he was dumping parts cheap. I was lucky and bought the latest, and updated new ,Hasport shift rods for a b swap, new out of the box for $60

Photobucket killed your thread. I'm advising that you download all of your pics from PB before they go kaput. I really liked reading this thread... I have a lot of envy for your CRX. It is very nice, good job and high fives and such.
