Default D16z6 swap in 90 crx engine mounts?

Ok first of all I know the search function and google is my friend and you hate repetitive questions I get it and im sorry. Butttttt I did search and im getting 2 different answers. What I need to know is im swapping a d16z6 into a 90 crx si. Head and block. So the question is are my d16a6 mounts going to bolt up to the d16z6 long block and install correctly? I have read one answer saying swap the eg mounts off the z6 and use the ef mounts. I have also read that you do the same but have to use the eg driver side mount on the z6 and all other use ef, and in doing so you must trim the timing cover for proper fitment of the eg mount into the ef chassis with the z6 engine. If anyone could clarify that would be much appreciated. Thanks

My understanding is to use the EF mounts off of your motor and trans. As long as they bolt to the Z6 block, they will fit. If they don't bolt to your block, use the EG mount where you couldn't get the EF one to fit. The Z6 should be a really easy swap for you. It should drop right in without much hassle.

Thanks for the response. I will not know for sure for at least a month. Have to have some machine work done then reassemble. But I will post results for future reference for others who may need to know.

Don't know how helpful this is gonna be but use all the mounts from your CRX. I did this in my 91 hatch and realized before I stuck the motor in that I had to take the EG mount by the timing belt off and swap it for the EF and all works fine.

Pretty much sums it all up. That's what I thought.

From the FAQ

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/how-d16z6-block-d16a6-head-2754616/

I know it's not what you are doing exactly but it does cover the motor mount issue. And to be absolutely clear it works with the stock driver's side mount from the A6 BUT it will be slightly tilted. If that concerns you there is an option from Hasport that they used to offer that is designed specifically for this swap. It will install without the resulting tilt issue from the A6 mount.

Does the tilt affect the shift linkage? That's the only thing aside from cosmetics that I can think of it altering. Possible hood clearance but I don't think that has been mentioned before.

No effects on my car. It honestly looks like the engine itself sits near normal, just the motor mount angle is slightly tilted forward.

I have a Z6 in my CRX. You need to use ALL the mounts AND brackets from the A6 on the Z6 and you will be fine.
Same applies for the Y7 and Y8. I had those as well in my CRX.

HASport offers an engine mount that apparently keeps you from having to hack up the timing belt cover.

Why would you need to hack up the timing belt cover? All I did was loosen the bolts on the top and the middle of the lower timing belt cover so you can get an extension in there with the 14mm or 17mm socket and you're good. But then again I used one of those extensions with that weird swivel end that I bought at Harbor Freight haha. Best of luck man.

I have no idea what this lower-cover-swivel-extension-14mm-17mm-Harbor-Freight talk is.

The upper cover needs to be trimmed to fit when using the EF mount.

The mount doesn't fit into the stock timing belt 'hole' that was notches for the other mount. That's what he is saying here.

My Z6 never came with the upper timing belt cover so my apologies.
