what about wiring harness? I have a 91 lx with tbi and want to swap in a 94 d16z6, would I have to transfer a 91 Si harness onto this motor, or butcher the 94 harness?
I didnt mean to hijack, i just thought it went with the topic

I'm butchering my d15 harness into the d16 harness to use the obd1 distributor and p28 ecu. Other people are using rpm activated switchs to activate VTEC because they use the non obd distributor, but I wanted to have the d16z6 run like it runs in all the 92-95 civics: off of the ecu.

The only thing you have to modify is the timing belt cover to fit with the driver side mount. Besides that it's a direct bolt-on.

Then did you use that harness from that site? for the ecu? THat is my main concern is the ecu, I would really rather use the p28 and have it run cherry

I put that motor in my 90 hatch. I ordered a JK harness. All you have to do is take your old harness off of ur old motor, and put it on ur new one. Its easier to do when its out of ur car. Do you have MPFI? If not then you will have to run 2 wires for the 2 other injectors. Just go to http://www.4thgenerationcivic.com and look under the how to section for DPFI to MPFI. Then if you have the harness ordered, just plug it in the P28 and run the wires that it says in the instructions. Oh and take the distributor plug off of the Z6 harness and slpice it onto the old one, so you can just plug it in. Its pretty easy if you get the actual instructions.
