d16a9 piston rings
hello, i have a d16a9, i changed my pistons rings using the d15b ones, it keeps going bad and car started to smoke after a week, i did changed it again, same things happens after a week, are piston rings interchangeable?

have your ring supplier cross reference the part #s, but from the sounds of it either there is another problem (the cylinder walls or pistons) or the rings are not interchangeable.

I'd measure the pistons up n down / all around to see if they're out of round
then measure the bore to check taper
run your fingernail in the bore - if anything catches, it needs to be machined
Sometimes if you use MOLY rings w/o the correct fine finish hone, the rings don't seal
if everything checks out and the cross hatch marks are still visible, I'd go for some cast iron units and see if that changes anything.
