crx water leak
my 91 dx crx leaks water all over in the back. all the weather stripping looks perfectly fine, but everytime it rains i have a big *** puddle under the spare tire. it seems like it leaks pretty much everywhere. it looks like it runs in all around the hatch/windows and the whole back of the hatch and runs under the side plastic panels and straight into the spare tire compartment. is this a common problem? how do i fix it? it already has some rust in the back from this but just a few days ago i undercoated the spare tire compartment but not under the panels and all that

Re: crx water leak
your weather stripping might be getting pinched when u close the hatch, U should either go to a junk yard or order new stripping, my boys 91 si hatch did the same thing, it was the stripping, he got new all around and no more leakee!!!
just do a triple check all over the hatch as well, look for small holes

Taillight gaskets!, its a plague to old hondas just like the master cylinder going out. I used to have the same problem with both of mine. Really easy and cheap fix, let me know if you need to know where to buy them besides the dealership.

Re: crx water leak
Want the answer? There is drain tubes in the rear of CRX's $20 bucks says yours is clogged....

IF its not then I will keep my $20 and go with the tail light gaskets being bad

Im going through the same leaks.. weird.. something in the passenger door, im gonna try re-doing the "bag" in there.
Im getting the drip from under the drivers side hatch support.. its slow but it drips down. not really sure where its coming from, its very annoying though.
obvious taillight gaskets (where can i get them besides the dealer?)
and a small spot by the hood pop...
its an old 88 si model. ive cleaned the roof drains and have the whole car gutted. sitting in it through the rain to watch for the leaks.

Re: crx water leak
Pull the headliner, pop the 4 nuts that hold the hatch on and reseal the area.

Re: crx water leak
the seam where the roof is put together (under the rubber "gutters") is leaking. pull the rubber pieces out carefully. apply a light amount of sealer to them (USC icing is probably the best). don't put too much or the rain rails won't sit flush. put them back on, using a 3/8" extension and light tapping. and bam, no more rain dripping from the base of the lift support.
u can try to fool with your drain tubes, but i doubt thats it. its also a possibility that your taillights as said above

^^^ this is a very good possibility. seen this happen many times. happens a lot with people with the windshield wiper linkage cover under the cowl too. it could be a crack you can't even see without checking very close.

This has been asked and answered
#1 - Seam Sealer. Looks like putty. Also need to REMOVE (or lift up) the black strips that run across the outside of the roof... Seam Sealer is CRACKED under there, leaks in, travels along body frame, and 'comes out' near the liftgate arms (it actually comes out much closer to the top but travels 'inside' the car for a bit).
#2 - Tail Light Seals. Same as above, Black Permatex is fine for repair.

Re: crx water leak
Are you actually removing the hatch to fix this water leak (the one that drips under the hatch support sturs) there is seam sealer in both upper corners.
I know everyone has been talking about removing the black strips on the roof and re sealing in there.. thats a good idea, its just such a b"tch removing those without messing them up.
I also think I have an isssue with my windshield.. I think the material holding it in is shot and water is leaking in there... down under the fuel lines by the dead pedal.. and then all over the drivers side floor..
Im worried of pulling the windshield and finding out I need to do some more work than just replacing the windshield.
UGHHHHHH.... water leak hell

Re: crx water leak
Mine is only leaking from the tail light because previous owner used a stick to prop the hatch open instead of replacing the hydraulics or whatever they are called.

Re: crx water leak
any ideas with water leaking in the doors? its dripping down onto the speaker... looks like its coming from the run channel. thinking the old window molding on the outside of the car is shot... common?
