Default crx SIR spoiler template?

Since I have a USDM Crx and just bought a JDM SIR spoiler, I want to mount it properly b/c I have seen some really botched jobs lately. What I am wondering is if anybody has a template to mount the spoiler? or, atleast a DIY

I always tell people to BOND the rear wing to the car.
Get automotive window sealant. Preferrably 2-part mix.

Don't go drilling holes in perfectly fine bodywork. The only thing that will come of that, is rust.

what i did was measure the rear hatch part then find out what is the middle of that, put dowm masking tape on the ends and middle, say if it measured like 42 in, then at 21 inches make a mark, i drilled holes and used sealent around the hole and it worked well for me

i would put masking tape. put the wing on, press the wing down onto the tape and you get the indent of where the holes need to be drilled.

Or you can drill it and get even more rust problems like everyone else seems to suggest!

Seriously people, epoxy and sealant are your friends.

EDM crxes come with fully sealed and painted bodies. And every single time I take a spoiler off (which is dozens and dozens by now) I am greeted with rusted away mounting points.

THIS IS WHY SO MANY OEM SPOILERS DO NOT HAVE ORIGINAL MOUNTING ANYMORE!

Besides the rust, rain+holes+lowest part of hatch= you do math.

im pretty sure my bodyshop bolted mine.

i installed the Mugen wing on my fathers TSX...for that i drilled out the holes...after i drilled i put primer and touch up paint on the exposed metal, along with a glob of clear silicone sealant around the threads.
Thank God the OEM mounting holes are marked.
went on like butta

Make your own.

Get some cardboard. Press the wing in it.
Presto.

But seriously. You're an idiot if you drill holes in your perfectly fine hatch.

I used the cardboard trick on mine. Then measured many times before drilling. Came out really good. Be sure to start out small with the drill bits and work your way up to the final size. Definitely use some silicone or some form of sealant around the holes to keep water out.
