crx hood release cable

crx hood release cable
when i bought my janky crx it came with a hood release cable that had been cut and tied into a loop. so i reach through the turn signal hole on the bumper to pull it
id like to replace it with a new cable that runs to the interior of the cars hood release latch/handle
how difficult would this be? anyone ever had to replace one before is it a headache?

Re: crx hood release cable
I had to replace mine. It involves removing the front bumper, drivers side inner wheel lining. After you do that its pretty straight forward removal of old/hacked setup, and rerouting the new one.

Re: crx hood release cable
because mine is just a loop and i bought the car that way, i have no idea where this thing would be originally routed through and to where.
is a driver side inner wheel lining a plastic panel? because if so mine are long gone

Yeah plastic, and its a piece of wire pull it through the firewall and put the other end on the latch...... its not very complex. Hardest part is removing the fender, and hopefully your bumper bolts aren't rusted
